Caryn Stanley
"Organizational change is everywhere and nowhere," said Caryn Stanley, who has recently assumed the role of Organizational Change Leadership Program Coordinator. “We all deal with organizational change, but many times we don’t realize that it’s where we really need to focus.”

Caryn spent several years in upper management with a Fortune 500 company and played an integral part in onboarding employees after a hostile takeover. Some things went well; some didn’t. “I’m thankful there’s a program that will train leaders how to handle those kinds of situations more strategically for ALL stakeholders,” Caryn said.

Her work experience will be an asset to the program, which has enrolled 56 students in its first two years. And, her personal experience will be an asset to her advisees. Like many of them, Caryn earned her master’s degree in organizational management and behavior online, while working full-time.

Caryn left her corporate job in Lafayette, Indiana, when her husband was offered a faculty position at UW-Platteville. As she pondered her options, he encouraged her to consider teaching, knowing her education and work experience, which includes recruiting and training employees, would be assets in the classroom. She has taught several human resources and organizational behavior courses on-campus since 2008 and began teaching online in 2011.

Looking back, it seems a natural career progression for Caryn to step into the role of Organizational Change Leadership Program Coordinator. She is thrilled to be teaching, advising, and coordinating the program and is excited about the opportunities it affords a wide range of students.

“The master’s degree in Organizational Change Leadership can apply to any employee in any profession,” Caryn said. “All organizations go through change.”
